FORGET YOUR WORRIES
This tour is the perfect combination of history and adventure, volcanoes and culture, a tour not only to get in touch with the natural wonders but also with the rural area of Nicaragua, its people, its farmers and way of life.
LITTLE DRAGONS OF FIRE
We begin our journey at Hervideros de San Jacinto, a complex of approximately 30 small craters with gas emanations and burning mud. This site is an expression of the volcanic magma found at about 3,000 meters deep, offering a geological spectacle in the midst of a rural community with a fascinating culture and history. Here, small archaeological remnants of our indigenous identity are still present, creating a unique blend of fire and archaeology.
THE POMPEII OF NICARAGUA
After visiting Hervideros de San Jacinto, we continue our journey to the Ruins of León Viejo. Comprising about 30 structures that were excavated in the 1980s, and declared a World Heritage Site, the ruins of León Viejo have much to offer. This city was once the scene of bloody rivalries, an apocalyptic chaos, and its eventual abandonment, leading to its eventual burial.
MOMOTOMBO VOLCANO
From the port of Momotombo, we head to the small beach where English pirates arrived half a century ago, having entered through the Caribbean Sea. From this vantage point, Momotombo looms imposing, the most formidable of the Nicaraguan volcanoes, with volcanic gases that have been emanating for over a century from the top of this colossus. In the background, our guide explains historical events and describes the current life in a community marked by conflict and an ongoing saga.
LAGUNA DEL TIGRE
The last stop is Laguna Del Tigre, a lagoon of volcanic origin. This volcanic crater lagoon, also known as Laguna Asososca, is surrounded by active volcanoes, creating a breathtaking landscape.
