Where is “el fortin”, an old fortress built between 1889 and 1890 during the second presidential term of Roberto Sacasa. Later it was occupied as a fortress to control the city in case of revolutions. During the period of the dictatorship it was enabled as a prison. From 1979 to 1986 it was used as a military base.
